Museum of Tolerance honors Founder Jill Gurr

Create Now is proud to announce that our Founder and Executive Director Jill Gurr is one of eight extraordinary people selected for a permanent exhibition at the Museum of Tolerance called "Everyday Heroes." Located in the Holocaust Section, "Everyday Heroes" is a video shown after the presentation of Simon Wiesenthal's Vienna office.

"I feel extremely honored to be selected as an 'Everyday Hero,'" said Jill. "The purpose of this exhibit is to show that ordinary people can have a huge impact on their community, which can spread throughout the world."

The exhibit is open to the public for viewing every day except Saturday. The Museum of Tolerance is located at 9786 West Pico Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. Click on this link to watch the video if you can't make it to the Museum.

CNN's Anderson Cooper 360° segment

CNN's Anderson Cooper 360° filmed a segment about us on June 15, 2007, during our music program at Phoenix House, a drug and alcohol treatment facility for kids. The following story is from Board member Jennifer Provencher:

I arrived at Phoenix House, not knowing what to expect. I was immediately taken aback by the kids that gladly greeted us. I mistook one of them for a staff member, but later found out that he was only 15-years old. He had gotten hooked on crystal meth at the age of 10. Now, he was one of the most mature and well-spoken 15-year olds that I have ever met. And he was not alone - all of the kids were amazing - mature beyond their years, full of dreams of joining the Navy or becoming an artist.
